Caught Up The Intervention Game is a traditional chess game with a distinctive urban twist to help youth consider the impact of gangs and the violence they spread. It’s a tool to help young people make healthier choices in their lives. Each young player has a conversation while playing the game based on potential real situations. When a player captures their opponent’s piece, the opponent picks a card and reads a scenario. Both players then chat about how he or she would respond in that scenario. The game teaches life. As you grow up you’ll learn that one move has endless amount of consequences. It could be rewards or it could be a consequence that could alter your life. If you don’t protect your move then you’re going to lose your piece, a life scenario.

Caught Up, teaching young people about the consequences associated with gang activity. A chess board game designed with an urban twist to help youth think about their choices and consequences is making.

Caught Up is designed to help youth see the reality of gangs and the violence they create in any community. This game is going to help the youth communicate with one another and to think three of four moves ahead and it shows then the ills of gang violence,” said Isaiah Crompton, developer of the game.
